Martin bolt-on with no bolt .

Hi guys happy new year , I have a Martin on the bench with very high action , its a GPCPA4 . When i pulled off the cover plate (crooked) there's no bolt , just the insert in the heel clearly visible . There is a tiny gap at the heel cap too. Is this something martin are doing now or has some one been doing the devil's work ?

I have run into this several times. Replace the bolt and tightening solved the problem. I believe it's a 1/4-20 x 3/4. Bolt works better than the philips head.

Well a new bolt brought it back enough that I could correct the action with the saddle , thanks Thomas I honestly would not have tried that , its too easy .
