Filling fret slot ends

In Frank Ford's discussion on Frets.com re: refretting a 1973 D-35 (see link below)...

...Frank talks in section 22 of filling th fret slot ends with superglue. Are we talking about filling any gap between the bottom of the tang and the bottom of the slot, so as to make a nice look? Frank does this prior to filing the fret ends flush. Does anyone fill the slot ends after filing the fret ends flush? Does anyone pack a little rosewood (or ebony) dust into the space before dropping in superglue?

I use burn in lac. I think it is essentially a lump of shellac in stick form. I've got about 8 different shades from medium brown ot almost black Frank talks about it here

For me, it depends upon the size of the gap. If the fretboard is ebony, I usually use the black cyano that I get from StewMac. Actually, I have used it on rosewood boards too. If there isn't much of a gap, you can't really tell black from rosewood sawdust, as it is really just a little speck of space.

Going the sawdust way seems fine, too. It's just that the black cyano is just so dang handy. In fact, I have some on my fingertips right now!
