Hello
This is may first post on this forum.
I live in Bucharest, Romania.
I am just good with tools, not a luthier, not even an amateur one.
I have an old double-six manufactured in my country 25 years ago.
It has a solid spruce top and laminated maple back and sides.
After I bought it in the '80s, I modified the bridge and instaled a sort of adjustable saddle that I made.
Now, after it sited under my brother bed for last 6 or 7 years, I decided to restore to its original condition.
I took off the remainings of the old bridge and I am waiting for a new one purchased from ebay.
The guitar has an unusual bracing pattern on the top: o big brace between pin holes and the soundhole and 5 radial thin braces runing from this one to the end of the guitar like in a classic guitar.
There is no bridge plate.
The top is sunken between the radial braces and near the sides of the fingerboard.
I kept it in a soft case with a home made soundhole humidyfier for a month or more with some pieces inside to keep the top level.. There is some improvement but I don't think that will be more.
I need advice regarding this top problem, how can I level it?
And, do you think that is good too glue a bridge plate?
Thank you and sorry for this long post.
