I am attempting the dreadnought to octave mandolin conversion that is at
frets.com 8 string conversion
and am curious how i would calculate the spacing for drilling the bridge pin holes. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Greg,
I noticed that down toward the bottom of the "conversion" page, Mr. Ford has included a couple of pictures of his setup for spacing the holes. One of them includes a shot of a steel ruler, which does a pretty good job of giving us scale. You might be able to figure it out by examining these pictures closely and experimenting on your own bridge with masking tape, like he shows in the pictures. .

just by the looks its about 1/16 inch between the choirs strings just start crunching #s you will get it
