Martin HD-28V  Bought used about a year ago.

Very disappointed this morning to see my bridge crack apart on the "wings".  The cracks are actually longer than they appear in the photos.

Not sure why...humidity in the house has been around 45% for the last couple of weeks.  So is this something that can be assuredly repaired or does the bridge need to be replaced?

Thanks!

Is that saddle a loose fit? I think I am seeing a gap at the back edge (made worse by the crack). A tall, loose saddle is often the cause of such a crack. If you pull out the saddle I suspect you'll see the crack all along the front corner of the slot. I'd replace the bridge.

Yes, the saddle was very loose.  I suspect it was not the original.

If I have the bridge replaced, can I expect to get one that is exactly what I have now...In other words, a factory original bridge?

Yeah - I would replace the bridge and yes a skilled Luthier should be capable of making from scratch an exact duplicate that retains the exact foot print too.

It's not a big deal or a big job.  In the last week we took in three bridge replacements so this must be crack your bridge month.... ;)

Ok, thanks.  I live in a rural area so I am going to have to ship it to someone.  Where are you located...or could you recommend someone not terribly far from Southeast Missouri?

remove the saddle clamp the crack closed , fill the crack with supper glue then sand the saddle to fit the slot and you should not have to replace the bridge for some time
