FRETS.NET

Despite all efforts, I had to check my Baby Taylor before getting on a plane. It has a broken neck now, and I'm hoping it is easy to repair. Can I just order one, bolt it on and adjust tension, or is there more to it? If there is glue involved or the nut needs to be installed and set, then I'll probably need to bring it in, no?

Thanks,
Russ

Call Taylor via their website contact - they are very helpful in sorting out neck matters (among others) and all the Taylor necks we have been shipped have come with the nut installed and the frets level. If you need a nut, Graphtech Tusq narrow (114 suffix from memory) is a drop in replacement (check that - I'm not in the workshop). Rusty.
Rusty, doesn't Taylor also keep records by serial number for which shims were used to set the action? I seem to remember hearing that somewhere. That would make getting the right action kind of a snap, wouldn't it?

Cheers,
Bob
Thanks for the information. I've left a message with Taylor. Hopefully, it will be easy to get this resolved. I'd love to get this little guitar playable again.
