clay dot finish problem?

hi i have a 2006 fender precision bass with a maple fretboard
,my problem is that a couple days ago the first 3 dots have changed from black to white !!!im thinking that the finish have taken some moisture or something and is going to brake (on the dots) in case the finish wears of on the dots what can i do and what is the reason for this?

Probably the lacquer finish over the dots separating from the plastic surface of the dots - nothing much you can do about it without refinishing the neck - it's harmless in itself but is indicative of poor lacquer adhesion / keying to the maple finish. Not uncommon. rusty.
