Hi guys , I have never found fretwire that matches up with Takamine wire , it's about .093 X .035 , or 2.35mm X 0.9 mm . Dont know why they go so low either ? Any ideas ? Thanks Len

I can't think of any new wire to match those exact dimensions, but then again I can't think of any good reason to want to match those dimensions either. If a player/client insists that they want that super low feel and just can't get by with any standard fret size, then you could either keep dressing the frets till there's nothing to dress, or level down a new larger fret wire to match the prior height after refretting. Of course if a customer really wanted to do this I would tell them it will cost twice as much and last half as long, which usually provides good motive to reconsider and give a standard wire size a shot.

I guess I'm really just saying that even if that 93x35 wire is available, I wouldn't be to keen on using it anyway.

When I do leveling and recrowning if the fret is lower than this I always charge more and sometines won't even do it if the fretboard is worn badly.  Seems awfully low.

Are these actual new fret dimensions or is it possible they've been redressed?Customers requiring such specifics are either uniformed or can't wait to bitch about the impending result.Agree 100% w/David...

Dunlop 6150 (.102 x .042) might be suitable. Or 6170 (.099 x .043). Stew Mac has a .106 x .036 but there's so little in the way of fret life I never recommend it.

Hi Len, I guess you probably want to match it for partial refrets.

I cant see anything with those dimensions available, might be worth saving upper fret wires from full refrets.

Yes Thanks Jeff . I have some but will have to go to a more normal height and do the whole lot, thanks for all the ideas gents .Len

Jescar .095 x .047 would be a good replacement.
