I was thinking I could modify a tool and to no avail yet any ideas out there the post are very close together and a small modified 4 inch crescent wrench is still no solution ?hum any takers maby some thing like a reverse square drive but how would I make one ?

A quick Google search for "autoharp wrench" will give  you lots of choices - they're cheap, too.

The square feature appears to be cast into the metal.  Alternatively a special tool called a broach can be used to progressively machine out a drilled hole until it is square, but this type of tooling is pretty expensive....

Look for a "T-handle" style tuning wrench, rather than the "L-style" it will put a lot less stress on the pin (and less reaming of the pinhole). Harpsichord wrenches are a good search source.
