hey everbody,i bought this guitar at a flea market for 25 bucks.the headstock logo is missing.i found the same guitar on the net made by dillon but the outline of my missing logo is a different shape.also i was wondering what the empty holes are for.i`m assuming they`re for a standby and volume tone.or would it be two tones?any info or where i could find parts would be greatly appreciated thanks graham

hey thanks gregg.here`s where i`m at.itook the electronics out and found the two toggles on the upper bout are indeed tone switches.the master volume is actually a rotary 3 way selector switch.so i added a volume, tone and standby switch.seems to work good although if the tone switches are on the tone pot works as volume.oh well i prefer the sound of the tone pot anyway.thanks again graham high
Sometimes, the same factory make the same instruments for different brands. Maybe it doesn't need a Dixon logo, but something else.

Hello

I saw your photo of the Japanese guitar (Gretsch copy) and i had to comment. This guitar is identical to a guitar that I had in the early 70s. The headstock bears the shape of the brand name which is RIVIERA. I still have the name plate off of that guitar. I have been searching for info on that guitar for a long time just for nostalgia. As I recall, the neck was incredible for a relatively cheap guitar. It was 139.00 back in the early 70's. The missing controlls were for a mute switch, tone and volume. The switch on the lower bout was a rotary switch. I think it was for selecting 1,2 or both pick ups but am not certain. I hope you are ejoying this guitar.Even though I have graduated to Gibsons, I am still searching for one in my area (nova Scotia).
