How to start making frogs for the Bows my daughter plays violin so that means I have an interest here .Can someone point me in the right Direction Please I would like to say thank you in advance thank you

Hi Paul I have amess of them here that i have taken off old bows you are wellcome to a half a dozen of them if they are any good to you, Some of them you can see how they are built because they are apart. Bill."""""""""'
I can't recommend Harry Wake's "Violin Repair" and "Bow Rehairing" books highly enough. Frogs are a bit trickier than they look, as you carve out the pockets for the hair, and slide, and the channel that the bow rides on. You are really at the mercy of your material, with erratic grain, and tear out. We've done a few, to restore some old bows, but it's cubic hours. Sharpen all your chisels, and keep your stone handy, as you work. Stuart Horsman
