The metal pyramid bridge on my old Oahu is lifting slightly about 1mm on the treble end,I noticed it seems to be only attached to the top by 2 bolts on the inside.Would I be right in thinking all I need to do is tighten the 2 bolts or is there more to it.How important to tone is it that the bridge needs to be perfectly flat as the top also has a very slight bulge behind the bridge however that may disappear with pulling the bridge back in like. Cheers

Kevin,

Most of the Oahu's I've seen - a limited number I'll admit - have been tailpiece flattops made for slide. Being a square neck your's is for slide so if you can try a tailpiece w/o damage to the instrument it might work. In general I wouldn't recommend this but Oahu seemed to use it often.

I have an old Oahu square neck and it had the same problem. I took off the bridge and made a thin Aluminium plate to place inside on the bridge plate. I then tightened up the bolts again. This straightened out the top and more importantly improved the tone and sustain.
Great idea will give it a go.Cheers
