Martin HD 28V built 2001 has a glued in set/long/through saddle. I read pappa Frank's article on removing it (to replace it.) Does anyone have any thoughts to add to that? Thanks. sister Lori

Nice lookin' bridge...........!
I'm with Tom Krebs on this one - it's the same process used for Gibson (and other) nuts which have been glued or lacquered in - saw down the middle and collapse the sides. Then rout it clean if it doesn't all come away.

But, since when was Martin gluing in these saddles? - we do undersaddle transducer installations for them with a machining procedure on the bottom of the saddle and I have yet to have a saddle break (even the fine tip ends) upon removal. I pad the bridge surface and use smooth jawed grippers to work the saddle vertically while using the Delrin pad as a base for leverage. Takes a long time but I guess I've been lucky so far.

Not saying they aren't glued in - even tho that doesn't appear to be a good idea, just that the ones I done personally don't appear to have been glued.

Rusty.
