To all:
I recently acquired an inexpensive - but pretty nice - Epiphone WildKat guitar. The guitar is mint save for 2 minor gouges in the polyurethane finish. I'd like to see those two nicks get fixed, but I really don't think the guitar is worth paying a Luthier to do it.
Would there be any issues with me carefully "drop filling" a little gloss polyurethane into those two nicks? Could I use water based poly for that?Would I then buff it out afterwards?
I apologize in advance if my suggested repair method constitutes "heresy" in any way for the idea :-) ... Really! Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Will
