side cracked while bending - advice needed

I was bending some sides last night and got impatient.  The result was that one of them cracked along the grain, in the middle of the side for about 3 inches.  The bend is not finished.  Has anybody experienced this?  Should I repair first and then complete the bend, or should I complete the bend and then repair?  If repairing first, what glue is best? 

 

Also, is it common practice, when building a guitar for sale, to repair cracks that happen during the build, or is it better to start with a new piece.  Or is that an ethical question with as many answers as builders?

There's always more than one way in here but I'd try to complete the bend and CA it later when dry or make another side.

I'd complete the bending then glue with hot hide glue, superglue is fine too. You could also glue with superglue first then complete the bending, there are a number of ways to go.

You'd be surprised how many instruments have cracked when building. I'd say most builder repair the cracks and save the sides. Once repaired and finished you would never see the cracks.
