What design of neck joint on Gibson J40?
Hi everybody,
I'm contemplating my first neck reset on a decent guitar and want to make sure I know what I am dealing with.
The guitar is a 1970s Gibson J40 with a pinless bridge.
Does anyone know what type of joint I should expect?
What type of finish were they using then?

I'm reworking a 1973 J-50 and it has a standard dovetail joint. Iwould expect a J-40 to have a standard dovetail as well.
