SHOULDER BRACE CAUL FOR CLAMPING FRETS IN

Hi all,I'm new at re fretting.I need to make  a caul for clamping frets on  a Maton  acoustic guitar extension.Can you please take a look at my pic and tell me should  the caul base sit in sections 1,2 & 3? Or in section 2 & 3 only?
I’m concerned about the strength of sec 1.

The second pic below shows the caul base on the sound hole edge.
Is this safe??

The answer is in your pic. You want a caul that will bridge the two braces and support the whole area.
