Can anyone tell me what is the best way to repair a fingernail scratch in a shellac finish?  Can you buff it out or should I pad more shellac over it and buff it out?

If you have a normal to heavy build, it's possible to sand out a light scratch (start with wet sand- naptha only- 800 to 1000 , then 1200 and buff); however I usually repair scratches by padding a little shellac over them; for some reason scratches fill quickly. Let the padded area rest at least a couple of days before buffing. This works for me ;I hope it helps you. Good luck! Robert
Thanks for your response Robert. It helped me take care of the scratch. Everett
