Hi there,

I've been searching for a swing arm style lamp to hold a 250w bulb to try a neck straightening job for the 1st time. I picked one up at a car boot sale recently but it's only for 60w max, (and it has the traditional bayonet fitting. The available 250w bulbs all seem to have a screw fitting.) Anyway, I can't seem to find one for sale anywhere! Does anybody have any cunning ideas where I might find one in the UK.

Thanks in advance,

Your best bet by far is to go  on to Ebay and buy a ceramic ES light fitting, which will cost less than a pound, and screw it to a piece of timber with an insulating layer of plasterboard, and rig up your own suspended light fixture.  Search for "edison screw fittings"

You will also want a 250 watt INFRA RED bulb, they cost less than  7 GBP, and are also available on Ebay.

The chances of finding a swing arm lamp with a 27mm ES fitting are zero.

Thanks for the info Murray.
