A customer has brought me a Fender Acoustasonic "Tele" - my first.

He wants me to route a cavity for a conventional Tele bridge pickup. Anyone have any idea what to expect under the wooden bridge thingy?
I don't want to route into a load of wires.
We're at the quoting stage so I don't want to try and remove the bridge to look.
Cheers for your time guys.

I haven't been inside the Acoustasonic Tele but with the Aura system, but things might be tight.
I think it would be cheaper overall for him to trade it in on a Fender Deluxe Nashville Power Tele. He'll get everything he wants + a middle pickup. Plus, it will retain it's value MUCH better than the one he's got. Fender has a miserable track/sales record with hybrids.
From personal experience & experimentation, I can attest that a Tele bridge pup mounted into a wooden bridgeplate will NOT sound like a pup in a regular Tele. The metal bridgeplate & saddles (and their materials) play a tremendous and significant part in the traditional Tele-twang tone.
And in closing, without pic's of the instrument w/the bridged removed (from all angles), everything will be speculation.
Best of luck with your customer & project (:
