I found a Vega VDX-84 for LOW money this Is a Guitar not a Banjo

this plays grate needs a saddle and some lower the stings,I am know martin took over in 1970 I can't find info before or after. So the guys at Cotton Music in Nashville say it's before Martin 1960 to 1970 most likely a 1962 S/M 100072

Looks just like a D28 except for those nice fat frets! How low $$ ?? If you don't mind nosey.........more pics..
side view,inside view,heel,braces and a copy of the plans if you got 'em.

I assume you've already bought it! Vega made many other instruments as well as banjos and while they had "decline" years at their peak they rivaled Gibson and Martin for quality instrument. Hell, considering that any decent Yamaha is worth far more than $75 a US made Vega is worth that as a wall hanging -if it plays "great" (sorry, but bad spelling "grates" on my nerves ) then snap it up - you could easily resell it for more but I really like "useable historic tools" and truly detest "collectors" (which I correlate with the back of garbage trucks).
