Hi,

This is my first post but I'm wondering what experience anyone here has with injecting hide glue with a syringe. I'm using it for the first time and the bracing that was clamped right away is solidly attached but the ends of the braces that were clamped last didn't get good adhesion and I was able to pop them loose fairly easily. I'm wondering if I can inject hot glue and reclamp. I guess my main fear is that the glue will need to be thinned too much to be injectable and will loose its strength.

Thanks

Not knowing whether the box is completely closed....you'd be well served to disassemble clean all old off and do it again .You'll probably wish you had later. Been there, done that.Good thing it's hide glue!
Hi Dean, go back through the forum posts about 6-12 months - we (the memebers) did a complete overview of glues and gluing techniques relating to hide and other glues about then - it was very comprehensive and enlightening. To cut is short - use a largish needle and warm the glue in the syringe by putting it in hot water to keep it viscous - dry run your clamps and techniques and then go for it. Rusty.
