I have a friend who has a black Tele that he wants me to do a paisley finish on. I really am not interested in doing it, but am curious about how to go about it? I understand Fender used sticky printed paper. I guess it would be easy enough to use some paisley fabric or gift wrap oversprayed with acrylic or polyester.

He was under the impression that somebody sold an overlay kit. I think he wants the full monty, not just a pickguard. With wide-format diirtal printing, it would be practical to print a copy of the original, but I don't think he wants pink. What colors did the Fenders come in?

Pink Paisley and Blue Flower. Some of the Paisleys had a pink burst edge, and others had gold. I sold my '68 last year. It was great guitar!

There is a huge old thread on the Telecaster forum.
