Martin HD-28 pickguard

Good morning folks,

I was hoping to get some feedback from you guys about a project I am working on. I have a new HD-28 and I'd like to remove the existing pickguard and replace it with a new one that has some custom inlay on it. The question I have is that the new pickguard looks great, but the finish is flat because it was sanded down during the inlay process. Headstock crack with a glue failure.

Hello everyone! I need some advice here from the glue specialists.

I have received a Michael Kelly acoustic bass guitar with a cracked peghead. Not much different from the classic Gibson crack, but here's the skinny: it was repaired using hide glue -and failed.

I guess I could use cyanoacrilate glue, since its lower viscosity can reach deeper into the crack, but I'm afraid it won't reach the wood but the previous hide glue instead. Is there a way to remove the old hide… Continue
