Hey everyone. I set up two guitars for my friend, a Japan Strat (really nice guitar too) and a Taylor 110 CE. Everything has gone just fine but the G on the 110 is flat at the 12th. The guitar was really dry so I humidified it for a week. The Neck is dead straight, the action at the 12th is .60 on the treble and .90 on the bass. When we were hanging out last week playing I didn't hear anything weird as far as intonation goes. All I have done is clean it up and shave 40 thou from the saddle. Is there something I am missing here? G string is just really bad at the 12th, never had an acoustic do this...yet...

Thanks Everyone!

Check the condition of the strings.  If they're worn out, that could be the cause.

If they're new & completely stretched, you have to address the intonation issue at the saddle, specifically it's compensated shape under the G string.

The guy isn't using a plain string for his G string, is he?  If he is, switch him over to a wound G and the problem will most likely vanish.

Is it flat or sharp?

Hope some of that is relevant :-)
