hey there all,

I'm doing a repair on a j200 and I'm having a heck of a time trying to find a decent pickguard for replacement. i ordered an aftermarket one and was not happy with the quality ,,,i'm looking for a guard with one of the traditional  designs any leads would be much appreciated !

ok ,,gibson may be able to help ,,just called,, but if anyone knows good after market sources if this doesn't work out ;0

Making pickguards is pretty easy - particularly if you have the original.  I'd be happy to share my method if anyone is interested.  Warmoth and Stewmac both carry good quality sheet material.  Guitar Fetish also carries a wide variety of stock at an attractive price but it's a bit softer than the first two sources.

i make plenty of pickguards,, the issue is j200 specific with the floral designs and all ,, it would be much cheaper for the customer to use one pre made  than for me to make one by hand because of the designs

so far i,m turning to Gibson for help ,, but finding a good after market source  beside Gibson would good info to have

OK - I understand.  Suspect it's going to be difficult to find an aftermarket supplier for a factory quality repro.  Hope Gibson is able to help you.  Best of luck.
