yet another dumb question.....

soooo heres a quik an easy one....do regular,uncompensaded angled style saddles on an acoustic(yamaha f310 dred.) need string slots or no?...i carved a bone saddle and i think i got the dementions right.but i ferget...i also made a nut and i know that gets slots...also the old saddle is gone so i just cant " look at the old one " this is my first acoustic guitar so im ignorent....any and all help would be great.....walker

Generally: no. A rounded top is fine and the string will seat itself a little after it's played in.
