I am a luthier in SoCal and have just come into a large cache of very old and super nice brazilian rosewood veneer. I started selling some on the bay but I'm curious if any one has ideas about getting this stuff out to the lutherie community. It's too nice not to use in guitars and I think the time might be right for veneer construction to come into the high end market, at least when it comes to brazilian. Some of these are over 12" wide and 12' long. I've attached some photos so let me know your thoughts. Thanks, Fish

How thick? In the pics it looks more like mahog./sapele.
For the most part it's .022" thick. Look closer at the first two pictures as there is no doubt this is Brazilian rosewood. Note the contrasting grain directions and ghost grain as well as the sap wood. There is quite a bit that has a deep purple coloring as well as a lot of straight quarter sawn like the Martin type from the 40's and 50's.
Hi Eric-- Try putting it up on e/BAY and see what happens-- just a sugestion--
peace,
Donald
Donald, I have been on eBay with this material for the last three weeks. My seller ID is fishsounds. Thanks, Eric
Hi Eric, Maybe try making them into laminated sides?
Hey Tom, fancy meeting you here. My thoughts exactly. I have a lot that would make awesome laminated backs as well. Grain patterns and colors you just can't find anymore. I am listing some Laupreto rosewood tomorrow that's thick enough for solid backs and sides as well. I'll include some photos.
