YES THE TOOLS ARE FROM STEW MAC a fluted bit buy the 2 sizes they have and experiment a bit but yes roberto venn showed me and i keep following the same examples and have had great results .I have also known another rv student who could not grasp it and as soon as he found work he learned a new way he said it was better but I like the dremmel idea it is fine i never get way out of wack the only 1 time i did i tried to cut through a registration pin 100 ways to skin a cat here with fret slots .i have seen a guy digging them out with a razor knife the blade had a hook shape ?

Couldn't have said it better myself, I don't mind a bit of flash and live in a profession that talks itself up and likes to shock and awe the punters (not politics - just rock and roll). This however is our site to which both gentlemen and lady luthiers and enthusiasts contribute and as far as I'm concerned bad manners and vulgar displays are best used on the pimply faced angry adolescent forums that I don't visit.
I like the Dremel for trimming the tangs while refretting bound necks. I just use a cut-off disc. As far as anything to do with slots, I have only met disaster.
