Figured maple for a Weissenborn slide guitar-thoughts?

Hi,
I'm wondering if any folks on frets can help me out in articulating to a potential customer the likely sound qualities of a figured maple weissenborn style guitar?

Ive never done a weissenborn in figured maple but built many great sounding guitar and bouzouki bodies with it. There would be 2 options-all of it in figured maple or fig maple back & sides with a sitka spruce top. The maple is western bigleaf from BC, Canada with high figure. It is good strong, stiff wood, not floppy and bendy. Im real lost in anticipating the tone difference if a spruce top is introduced? There are a few youtubes out there with all figured maple weissenborns... they sound good to me but always hard to really judge with typical sound quality off youtube. Figured maple seems to be used lots for Dobros, Weissenborn buyers are often hung up on koa or koa-like looks so less to compare to there.

Any advice or thoughts appreciated.

Cheers,
Rory
