When positioning a new bridge on a retopped yamaki guitar with a zero fret do I measure from the nut or the zero fret to place bridge and saddle?

Since the strings rest on the 0 fret I'm guessing measure from 1st fret but get more feedback before proceeding.
The o fret is your nut.So that is were you measure from. Bill.""""""""""

I reinstalled existing nut and it apeears that strings rest on the zero fret when at tension. I'm measuring from zero fret and I plan to hot glue the bridge tonight. Thanks for responses
