I've got a Taylor on my bench that needs to be done by Sunday. The top is loose at the end block and it needs more clamping pressure than I'm comfortable with to pull the side flush with the top. The options are glue it down and fit a peice into the small "underlap " (not sure that's a word) or force the side in and clamp it down. Any thoughts?

Since the side started out flush with the top, I'd squish it back and glue it in place.  Sometimes I've use quite a lot of clamping pressure!  Take a look at this bit:

Thank you Frank, that's exactly what I was looking for.... A really good second opinion. I've got to make some of those L clamps some day and they rock.

I'll have to settle for  a couple of these.

Slick  - grip onto what you can!

What an amazing idea you came up with here John. Blows my little mind!

That is a very neat idea.  Love it!
