I here over on the Guild site that D'Addario strings are the way to go for the best overall volume /tone/substain for my D-35 Westerly built mid 80s Guild. I used to play John Pierce strings just because my beloved Nanci Griffith played them when she used to play the odd Guild on stage until she got into that strict Taylor contract.Over on the Guild site some people hint that DR strings are where you want to be. The reason I here this is that they are owned by the son of one of the original owners of Guild before Fender got their hands on them.....and they call that progress as John Prine would say! They claim to use mostly Guild guitars for their lab tech shop testing trying to hit all of the above tarkets dead on. I have yet to throw a set of DR strings on having the D'Addarios at present. Has anyone tried a set of DR strings on their Guild and are you happy you did ? Thanks for your input! -nanccinut
