Shaping neck of a Taylor 314CE

I'm re-shaping neck of a Taylor 314CE and would like to know how much wood I have between the back of the neck and the truss rod. Saw the Taylor neck cutaway on Frets.com but not sure if the 314 would be the same.

I’d recommend against doing this. Hard to believe you find a Taylor neck too bulky.

I have found that X ray businesses can be willing to take a shot or two , its worth asking .

I believe all Taylor necks are of similar profile - so the example that you have seen in cross-section is probably very similar to the one on your bench.  As Greg suggested, Taylors have among the slimmest neck profiles of all acoustic makes.  I think you would want to be very cautious taking a Taylor neck any thinner.
