I know what a stratocaster is but isn't it different than a starcaster?

Ron
yes, the Starcaster was a semi-hollowbody.... not a spectacular seller and don't know if they're still made. Fender does, however, still use the "Starcaster" name on their entry-level drum sets, etc.

Hi Donald,

Thanks for the info but yes i am looking for the starcaster, the semi hollow body,

cheers,
yeah, the real Starcaster was the Edsel under Fender guitars :-) , as far as the popularity went. I guess it just didn't fit in Fenders singlecoil/ solid body image. Shame, I've read a few times that it was a killer guitar.
I think they made them from 1975 to 1982 or 3 ??
Never seen a real one, even a real Fender freak I know (a customer of mine), with a collection of over 60 instruments hasn't got one, or even ever had one in his hands. Pretty rare guitar. Lots of luck with your search!
Best G.
One of my customers has one of these beasts, but he moved away. Sorry!
