I have a friend who is interested in getting one of those leather wraps made for his guitar body. The one he is currently using was made in Holland. I just wanted to see if there are any of these craftsmen in the states? I am including a link to his website so you can view the wrap I am referring to.

I know a simple google search will turn up some results, but I am looking for more of a trusted craftsmen with some street credit...

Daniel Roberts is the guy that has been building ( and leather wrapping) all the Buddy Holly Tribute guitars that have been going out to the Guitar heros of the world. I do not know who makes the leather wraps for his guitars. Contact him and ask?https://www.facebook.com/daniel.roberts.921025?fref=ts

Each to their own I suppose, but isn't there a muting or damping of the sound?

Terry Lankford seems to have good credentials! Never dealt with however.

Oh the horror....

We are missing a marketing opportunity here for those all-over plastic shrink wrap things that are done for cars - with advertising on them.  You could use your axe to promote Coca-Cola or Jack Daniels or Kim Kardashian perfume, making yourself look very cool, and at the same time earning some cash.  I am sure it wouldn't harm the sound of the guitar.

Steve, I have never heard one recorded, but I would imagine stuffing around 5 or 6 Teeshirts through the soundhole would be comparable...

A few months ago I removed custom wood & leather mirror-image pickguards on a J-200 and buffed out the finish. The difference in volume and tone was huge.

I remember in olden times when guys would strip their Strats, rub 'em down with tung oil, and slap on a tooled leather pickguard. Voila - organic Strat!  I stick to tooled leather straps from El Dorado:

DanRoberts got back tome. He said that his leather instrument covers were made by a saddleworking place, and were about 2k each. If that pricetag does not scare you, I can give your contact info to him?

$2,000 to put a guitar in a leather condom? For a lot less I could get my mum to knit a cosy for your banjos.

Thanks for all the input. Just to set the record straight here, I do not condone using something like this, I would have the same concerns about sound dampening as many others. I appreciate the leads and will pass the information along. Thanks again for your time and input.
