There is a guy who makes experiment acoustic guitars using no bracing on the top but four strong supermagnets to "float" the top instead. Seems to work, but I'm not impressed by the sound. He is on FaceBook.

Thanks, I find magnets interesting too. Frank's articles often warn of their dangers. I was thinking that the guitar with the floating top might need a warning decal to prevent a wiped credit card, an erased smartphone, etc. I also wonder how it would record since a mic is a transducer similar to an electromagnet.
