Friend of mine broke the neck off his 1959 Les Paul Sunburst( i cried brothers its too horrible to even post a picture) i had a warmoth spare Lp neck in my shop i know how to do the inlay. But how does gibson apply that famous " Les Paul Model" in the middle of the headstock. and does it go on before blackening the peg head or after.

Man, I hope you mean a '59 reissue.  BTW: you'll find that Gibson's are notorious for their poorly designed necks, especially the weak neck/headstock area. They've had over 50 years to correct the design flaw but have obviously chosen to ignore their customers' best interests.

The decal goes on after the black coats and before the clear coats.

Isn't the Warmoth neck a bolt-on?

Tell your friend what I tell my customers: The only safe place or a guitar that isn't being played is in its latched case.

No, it's a decal.

MAJOR RED FLAG: as an original, even with a broken neck, it's still worth tens of thousands of dollars, like over $50K!!!!!  It needs to go to an extremely experienced LP specialist repairman to retain it's value.  Anybody support me on this one?

To attempt a bastardized repair on such a collectible and valuable instrument is an ethical travesty.  It would be like putting a Harmony neck on a pre-war D-45!

BTW: anyone that is so careless with a $200,000.00+ instrument should have his balls handed to him on a platter.  How did it happen?

Are you talking about the gold "Les Paul" signature?  If so, the factory silk screens it on the black face shield, then nitro sprayed..

 

Real vintage? Man, that's BIGGG bucks...Then send it to the Gibson factory for repair!

Le "Les Paul" is silk screened, you can't do it in a small shop. If it's a real '59, I think it has to be fixed, not change. If you don't feel like taking it (the kind of question you're asking is a hint that you are maybe not that familiar with these guitars deep repair techniques?), pass it over to a very good repairman. Considering you're in the US, why not the Gibson factory?

How it happened is a crazy bipoler ex girl friend broke it he said when he went to the house to pick it up she told him he was pissed. and ok will do but as far as the scrip logo this i was curious about it but yes i know it was a horrible thing but i will send it there thanks guys.
