FRETS.NET

Hello All, and especially Frank.

Thank you all once again for the opportunity to participate here at Frets for 2013.  I continue to be amazed at the knowledge and kindness passed on in equal amounts on this forum and , given the hell-in-a-handbasket that a lot of other online places resemble I feel privileged.

This year has been hard for a lot of us and recovery and optimism has been in short supply for a lot of people but I know that we will prevail.  We have a great trade, job,  hobby or pastime here and it's a credit to all concerned that we all can exist in the same place and do so with so much genuine respect.

I take my hat off to you all and wish you an excellent and prosperous 2014 and beyond.  Thank you so much,

Rusty.

Very well said! Merry Xmas to everyone and looking forward to a great New Year!

You are talking like it's the end of the year or something...

It is indeed a Great Privilege.

The Quality of the Resources and Techniques Frank has so Generously Archived.

And the Sheer Class of the Experienced Individuals that Actively Contribute to Fix Musical Instruments, little short of being in an Emergency Department.

Reveal America, is Heaven Blessed with so many Great Luthiers. Here in the U.K. and elsewhere around the World, although wonderful Instrument Builders exist, they are far thinner on the ground, and far more widely scattered.

Although the Global Importance of Franks Fora cannot be overestimated. For me, simply to see Pictures of Musical Instruments I haven't seen an example of, in maybe 40-50 years, is a tremendous thing, as is having their Manufacturing Construction and Build Quality inside, fully revealed, as never before.

There is Always More to Learn in this Old World.

Franks Fora and ALL of YOU, have made it a Compelling Source of Information, and a Great Hang Out for those that Love and Deal with Musical Instruments.

Here's a dearly loved old friend that grew up and lived a couple of streets along from me, sadly, no longer with us. To remind us that coming from different cultures, it's easy to sometimes misunderstand one another.

We shared precisely the same Local Bank Branch, which is a Very Large Branch. If you need to talk with a Personal Banking Adviser at that Branch, all the Offices for that are Upstairs.

He needed to talk to one, so a very Young and Attractive Female Personal Banker came down to see him and said to him, "would you like come upstairs with me?"

To which he answered in a loud voice for everyone to hear "Absolutely I will, that's the best offer I have had in years"!

Everyone in the Entire Bank were laughing their Heads Off!

Mean while for all of the Americans and other people around the world may I wish you all the best of the best for a wonderful Christmas and the happiest of new years...

Mr. Ford -- Thank you for a web site to make my life a little more interesting and please be safe in the new year.

Yes, happy holidays to all!

Thanks for starting this thread Rusty!

This is the most decent group on the net in my view and here is wishing everyone the very best of Holiday Seasons!

I have learned so much in the last few years from this community. ( I even read the "electric" guy's postings! )  My previous experience in Internet forums (fora.. if you must) highlights the unique nature of this one. I'm very glad to have discovered such a fine group of patient and reasonable people. I also want to add my thanks to Frank for this "place"  and I thank all of you for your contributions to my education.  Merry Christmas.

Couldn't agree more! Well said Rusty

Merry Xmas to you too, Rusty, and to our entire "family" of posters and responders.

The only place 'cooler' to live in than FRETS.NET, would be in The Shire...... and that's ONLY due to the architecture :)

Peace to ALL,

Paul :)

Yeah, Paul, My wife and I are both lusting after BagEnd.  Maybe it's the round doors?
